John L. Tobin has recently been re-elected  President of Massachusetts Hockey  for a second two year term.  Mass Hockey is the state Affiliate of USA Hockey, Inc. and is responsible for the governance of the amateur sport of ice hockey in the Commonwealth.  It has over fifty thousand members statewide.  Mr. Tobin has served as Mass Hockey’s Counsel for twenty years.  He is also a member of the Board of Directors of USA Hockey and its Legal Council and has sat on USA Hockey’s Executive Board.  He previously was Treasurer of Charlestown Youth Hockey.  He has served on the Board of Trustees of the Charlestown Preservation Society and the Charlestown Neighborhood Council and is presently a member of the Board of Directors of the John F. Kennedy Family Service Center.

John L. Tobin recently chaired a hearing panel concerning a dispute between the Texas Amateur Hockey Association and the Dallas Ice Jets.  Subsequently he served as an arbitrator in the same dispute.  He previously acted as an arbitrator in a dispute between the North American Hockey Academy and the Vermont Amateur Hockey Association.  He was the chief author recently rewriting USA Hockey’s dispute resolution procedures.
